On 20 January 2009 – 27 January 2009 a press trip for a group of select senior journalists from the United Kingdom was jointly organized by The Expat Group and Henry Butcher Penang. The primary objective of this trip is to promote Malaysia as a destination of choice for both holiday makers and home seekers to the U.K. market. The event was further supported by many friends of Penang, including The Penang State government, G Hotel, Invest Penang and Tourism Malaysia.
During this week long event, the journalists had comprehensive tours of Kuala Lumpur & Penang and visited many key residential & commercial real estate developments and the many places of interests which both cities can offer to visitors and tourists alike.
This joint effort is believed to be the first of its kind in promoting Malaysia internationally. Despite the current global financial crisis, this press trip is indeed timely and will enable members of the UK medias to report on the many business opportunities available in the country.
