Property Market to Stay Buoyant

This was the view of Henry Butcher Malaysia (Penang) legal and corporate manager Helen Tan whose company recorded total potential sales of RM30mil during the three-day fair which ended on Sunday.

Tan said the company received more than 1,000 registered en-quiries.
“We will have to follow up closely with these potential buyers but we are confident that they are genuine and serious about booking our various properties,” she said.

Henry Butcher had the most number of booths showcasing various projects including the Sterling Country Homes in Ayer Itam, Bukit Dumbar Villas in Bukit Dumbar, Kang Har Tong Residence (KHT) in Jelutong, The Oasis in Gelugor, Bayu Mutiara in Bukit Tengah Prai and Penang Times Square in George Town.

“The number of registered KHT buyers actually exceeded the number of units offered,” Tan said.

She said the innovatively designed booths at the fair added to the festivity of the event and reflected industry confidence in the property market.

Emerald Capital Group, the developer of SunTech@Penang CyberCity, recorded total sales of RM5mil.“SunTech in Bayan Baru is the state's first purpose-built MSC office building. I suppose that’s one of the reasons why the response was so good.

“Many of the fair visitors went to the SunTech development site during the weekend before returning to our booth to purchase the Small Office Home Office (SOHO) units,” Emerald general manager Lee Ham Kong said.

He said the company’s ‘Intelligent City’ bungalows at the border of Jawi and Nibong Tebal also received many bookings.

“Fifty percent of the 84 units were reserved during the fair so we are very pleased,” he said.

Emerald's booth, which is decorated with a beautifully landscaped garden, was voted one of the outstanding booths at the fair which was held at the Penang International Sports Arena.

MTT Properties & Development Sdn Bhd marketing manager Michelle Goh said the sales and enquiries received were overwhelming, exceeding all expectations.

“Most of the 160 double-storey semi-detached and terrace units in our Botanica. CT project already have potential buyers queuing up.

“Although the project is in Balik Pulau, we attracted a large number of purchasers looking to upgrade from condominium units to landed property because the township is accessible and well-planned,” she said.

E&O Property Development sales and marketing manager Nancy Teo said most of the visitors to the fair ended up visiting the company's development site in Tanjung Tokong.

“Quite a number of potential buyers dropped by the recently completed Seri Tanjung Pinang show units during the weekend,” she said.
