About the Book
 
Till now, there has been no real estate book catering for the expatriates community, particularly one which focuses on Penang. This book provides useful facts and reliable information for expatriates as a guide during the process of identifying what Penang has to offer.   The first half of the book addresses what Malaysia and Penang have to offer our foreign friends. Penang, although a modern city, it still has its old charm ie the built heritage, colonial architecture and rich cultural values. Penang is voted Asia’s top 10 places to live in by expatriates and interesting enough, was one spot ahead of Kuala Lumpur in an international survey of 254 places.
 
Topics include Malaysia My 2nd Home (MM2H) program, property transactions and a directory of homes. Under the directory of homes, we introduce an overview of selected homes in Penang bearing in mind that foreigners can only buy a home of more than RM250,000.   Useful information includes the project details as well as secondary transactions and rentals. In doing this, the publisher strives to provide a basis for developing an understanding of the property values.
 
What we have done is to provide as much information as possible with the aim to equip foreign investors with the basic knowledge they need to have a fairly good understanding of the local real estate market to enable them to make good investment decisions.
 
There is also a unique Penang map which identifies the location of each home.
