GOOD sales and overwhelming response – these were among the comments of exhibitors of the Star Property & Home Fair 2006 which ended its run at the Penang International Sports Arena for the fourth consecutive year.
They said although more high-end properties were featured at the fair, the response was surprisingly good.
Sterling Reserves Sdn Bhd enjoyed confirmed sales of 20% for its 76 three-storey and three-and-half-storey bungalows in Paya Terubong which are priced from RM860,000.
Its managing director Yong Kei Wai said that visitors also registered for the remaining units.
Yong said the fair was very successful judging from the number of visitors.
“I believe the talks were a major crowd-puller and they indirectly benefited exhibitors like us,” he said.
MTT Properties & Development Sdn Bhd marketing manager Michelle Goh said the company’s 70 double-storey semi-detached lots in the Botanica.CT project in Balik Pulau had been taken up.
Almost 75% of the 90 double-storey terrace houses had been sold at the fair, she said.
“We did not expect to record such good sales,’’ she added.
Another happy exhibitor was Henry Butcher Malaysia (Butterworth) Sdn Bhd which recorded RM70mil in sales for its D’Piazza Mall in Bayan Baru.
Its project sales department head Brandon Law said 70% of the commercial units were snapped up at the fair.
The company’s division head Teh Fong Yun said the D’Piazza condominium units which would be launched by the end of the year received good response.
“A total of 488 units were open for registration, but 700 people signed up,” he said.
Law said the booth was swarmed with visitors on all three days.
