DO your bit for charity, and at the same time, be one of the select few to own exclusive Amee Philips je-wellery.
The renowned jeweller will be exhibiting a fine selection of exclusive and rare pieces during the upcoming The Star Property Fair 2009 at the G Hotel.
The pieces will be auctioned off in aid of two charities — Penang Pure Lotus Hospice of Compassion, which provides care for the terminally ill, and the Asia Community Service for handicapped children.

Company founder Amee Philips said: “We hope to raise around RM25,000 from the auction, which will feature 25 pieces of rare gemstones from several different countries and priced from RM1,000 to RM1mil.
“Although we’ve set an initial target of RM25,000, we hope to raise more if possible, but much will depend on the generosity of bidders.”
She said: “All monies collected above the pieces’ reserved prices will be distributed to the two cha-rities.”
Among the items are a rare Alexandrite colour change stone (which is green during daytime and red at night), a Padparadscha (King of Sapphire from Sri Lanka), a 7.15-carat unheated ruby from Tanzania, a 9.58-carat pear shaped unheated blue sapphire from Sri Lanka, Imperial topaz from Brazil, Tanzanite from Tanzania, a Tsavorite (green Garnet from Kenya), emeralds from Columbia, a pair of 40-carat Aquamarine from Brazil, South Sea Pearls from Australia and Tahiti, a Japanese Pearl String and natural jadeite pieces from Burma.
The ‘piece de resistance’ will be the Ruby Affair — a soft necklace with stunning rubies and diamonds — expected to fetch a price in excess of RM1mil.
To be held on Sept 12 from 8pm to 9pm at the second floor of G Hotel, the auction, themed ‘Amee Philips and Friends Giving Back’, will also include a belly dance perfor-mance and a glitzy runway fashion show featuring the auction pieces.
Renowned English auctioneer Graham Ellis has been specially flown in to conduct the auction, assisted by licensed auctioneer Angeline Woo from Henry Butcher Malaysia.

On Sept 11 from 8pm to 9pm, Philips will conduct a workshop, themed ‘Empowering Women to be Creative,’ with her award-winning and patented Versatile V-Clip, followed by a question-and-answer session on gems and jewellery, as well as a belly dance performance and a fashion show.
